Live Invoice Maker is a free invoice generator for freelancers, contractors and small businesses. It exists because the alternatives were frustrating: sign up, hand over an email address, fill in an invoice, then discover the download is watermarked or capped at three documents a month.
How it works
The entire tool is one HTML page, one stylesheet and one JavaScript file. When you type into the form, JavaScript running on your own computer redraws the invoice. There is no back end, no database and no API call. The invoice is never transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.
Saved invoices are written to your browser's local storage, which is a small private area of your own hard drive that only this website can read. That has one important consequence worth repeating: your saved invoices live on one device in one browser. Clear your browsing data and they are gone. Always keep the PDF.
Why it is free
The site is funded by advertising. Ads sit between and below the content, never inside the form, and nothing is hidden behind them. There is no premium tier and no plan to add one to the core generator.
Who built it
Live Invoice Maker is built and maintained by Sarfaraj Sarkar, a freelance web developer based in West Bengal, India, working under the Rayyan Infosoft name. The tool came out of writing invoices for clients in several currencies and getting tired of the paperwork.
What it deliberately does not do
It is not accounting software. It will not file your tax return, chase your debtors, reconcile your bank feed or tell you what tax rate applies to you. It writes a clean invoice and hands you a PDF. For anything involving your tax position, talk to an accountant who knows your jurisdiction.
Corrections and requests
If something calculates wrong, renders badly on your device, or your currency is missing, please get in touch. Bug reports with a browser name and a screenshot are the most useful thing you can send.
